Customer Service... Hmmm.
I got to this blog by googling the words "Mountain Equipment" and "Customer Service". I wanted to find out if anyone had had similar experiences to mine when dealing directly with the company.
Simply put, their kit is good, and their policies are sound, but *how many times* must a man ring them and cajole them to respond to emails, agree terms, send warranty replacements, etc? I have been in a degree of conflict with ME over the ownership of a sleeping bag and it's subsequent replacements - first faulty then inferior - for months, and I'm still waiting to finally get a sleeping bag from their Magic Mountain shop, allegedly sent weeks ago, but still not with me.

If you want an example of how NOT to treat your customers (the ordinary man in the street, not the sponsored professional explorer) then have a play with Mountain Equipment. You'll soon be very disappointed and frustrated, which is in great contrast with the reputation that their products enjoy.
